Fall Infestations of West Indian Cane Fly

The West Indian canefly (WIC; Saccharosydne saccharivora) has become a more familiar pest to Louisiana sugarcane farmers in recent years. Fortunately, the hard freeze last January appears to have prevented widespread problems with the WIC like the outbreaks which affected much of the industry in 2012 and 2016 from occurring this past year.
