Farmers, Mills Bracing As Rice Harvest Could Be 'Worst In Memory'

A perfect storm of bad luck this year that has resulted in Louisiana's rice farmers producing one of the lowest crop yields in memory. Murphy's Law states, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong," and Louisiana's rice farmers watched Murphy run roughshod through their fields since late last year. They are now feeling that pain as the year's harvesting period comes to a close.
