2018 Louisiana Total Value of Production for Field Crops Down 3 Percent
The value of production for field crops in Louisiana during 2018 totaled $1.90 billion, down 3 percent from 2017. The top three crop commodities (excluding sugarcane), soybeans, rice, and corn, accounted for 64 percent of the total value of production for field crops. Sorghum showed the largest percentage decrease from 2017 at 58 percent, followed by all hay at 14 percent and soybeans at 13 percent.
