LSU Rice Research Station Gets Late Christmas Present

The Louisiana Rice Research Board has funded an endowed chair at the LSU AgCenter’s Rice Research Station in Crowley to the tune of $1,000,000.00. Board Chairman Richard Fontenot said the board members had been working for the past three years to gather all necessary information and legal paperwork in order to make the endowed chair a reality.

Fontenot also said the rice research board is working on even more funding for the station and has some $500,000.00 that would be freed up later this year.

The presentation was made Wednesday night in Jennings at the annual joint meeting of the Louisiana Rice Growers and Louisiana Rice Producers.
