Agronomist Wilson E. Judice of Centerville, La. has joined the staff of the American Sugar Cane League.

The addition of Judice brings the League agronomy staff to three. Supervised by senior agronomist Herman Waguespack Jr., he will monitor the primary and secondary seed increase stations in the Bayou Teche and northern parish regions of the Louisiana sugar belt. Fellow staff agronomist Atticus Finger will now concentrate on the Mississippi River and Bayou Lafourche regions. Judice will also assist in all League research activities, including outfield new variety testing.

Judice has an extensive sugarcane background. After earning his bachelor (2003) and master's degrees in agronomy (2005, weed science) from Louisiana State University, he returned to Franklin, St. Mary Parish where his family has been producing sugarcane for six generations. He has farmed full-time for the last 13 years.

He is active in the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, the American Society of Sugar Cane Technologists and the Ag Leaders of Louisiana Alumni Association. He currently serves on the LSU AgCenter St. Mary and Iberia Row Crop Advisory Committee and the St. Mary 4-H Advisory Committee. He is also a commissioner for the St. Mary Parish Fire Protection District Number 2 and a director of First South Farm Credit ACA.

Wilson, his wife Dana, and their four children attend St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville.
