During his report Thursday on the Voice of Louisiana Agriculture Radio Network, Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Mike Strain reported he’s headed back to the nation’s capital in the next several days.  Strain said he would be sitting down with newly sworn in Secretary of Agriculture Dr. Sonny Perdue in Strain’s role as president of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture.

Strain also met Thursday at the state capitol with a delegation of Louisiana FFA members.

The commissioner pointed out “FFA is a career and technical student organization that makes a very positive difference in the lives of young people, by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth, career success and agricultural education.”

“It (FFA) compliments classroom and laboratory instruction with surprised agricultural experience and programs,” Strain continue.
