The average American eats nearly 56 pounds of beef in a year according to the market research firm, Packaged Facts. That means to keep up with the growing demand for beef, the men and women who raise cattle must find ways to do it more efficiently.

Bees play a crucial role in pollinating many plants, including some important agricultural crops. Mites are a major concern for beekeepers, and researchers with the LSU AgCenter are looking at ways to help identify these pests. AgCenter correspondent Craig Gautreaux has this report.

A cold winter meant a slow start to this year's crawfish season, but warmer weather has spurred both growth and the number of crawfish being caught. LSU AgCenter correspondent Craig Gautreaux has this report.
