A majority of states nationwide allow raw milk to be sold on farms -- the same provision that's in LaFleur's bill -- but in most places where unpasteurized milk has been up for debate, food safety has been a major issue. Since 2007, raw milk has been linked to 81 outbreaks of disease in 26 states; 73 people were hospitalized, according to the Centers fo Disease Control.
