LSGRPB Seeking USB Nominations at Its March 16th Meeting

The Louisiana Soybean and Grain Research and Promotion Board (LSGRPB) is looking for Louisiana farmers to represent the industry at the national level on the United Soybean Board (USB). The LSGRPB is the Qualified State Soybean Board (QSSB) for Louisiana. A QSSB is essentially the state partner in the federal soybean check off program. The United Soybean Board (USB) administers the soybean program, which is an effective tool in the marketing of soybean products, and addressing current and future industry challenges.

Central to this effort is the goal of growing leadership to serve on the boards that reflects a diversity of perspectives and opinions. The industry population that pays the marketing and promotion assessment is diverse. The boards should reflect that diversity in the size of operations, experience of members, methods of production and distribution, marketing strategies, and other distinguishing factors that will bring different perspectives and ideas to the table.

The LSGRPB nominates individuals to the Secretary of the USDA for consideration and appointment to serve as a Board member on the USB. The LSGRPB will be considering USB nominations at its meeting on:
