ASAP: Agricultural Safety Awareness Program - ATV Safety

This is Agricultural Safety Awareness Program week, with each day dedicated to a different aspect of safety on the farm.  

"The purpose of the week is to highlight the different topics concerning safety that may be present in and around a farming operation," said Louisiana Farm Bureau Safety Director Wendell Miley.  

The slogan for the week is "Caution - Safety is No Accident"

Monday's focus is on ATV safety, which Miley says has been a big focus of his farm safety efforts over the last several years.  "That's going to be the number one way to get killed on a farming operation, because we just have a lot of them being used out there," he said.  "Unfortunately, a lot of farm ATV accident victims are kids."
