Louisiana Women In Agriculture Conference 2020

ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana – The annual Louisiana Women in Agriculture (LWAG) conference is just around the corner on Thursday, March 12th and Friday, March 13th in Alexandria, Louisiana. LWAG will take place at the Randolph Riverfront Center in Alexandria and will not disappoint with compelling speakers, more vendors and new Agri-Tours.

The conference kicks-off with its renowned agri-tours on Thursday, March 12th. This year there are two amazing tour options available: The cattle Tour visits a micro-dairy and cattle operation in Many and Leesville, LA.   The forestry Tour visits Martin Lumber Company’s OSB plant in Oakdale, Kisatchie National Forest and a long leaf pine operation.

Friday, March 13th will feature a full array of dynamic speakers, informative break-out sessions and live demonstrations throughout the day. LWAG 2020 will feature several nationally-known speakers including: 

-          Jolene Brown, from Iowa, a professional speaker, author and family business consultant. She is a champion for the people and industry of agriculture and lead a workshop on succession planning designed for the agricultural community

-          Courtenay Dehoff, from Kansas, is a cowgirl turned television personality. She is an experienced speaker and writer who is dedicated to spreading the word about the people, places and animals that make our agricultural lives special.

-          Amanda Radke, from South Dakota, is a fifth-generation rancher, professional speaker, children’s book author and has most recently made headlines with her “open letter” to Ellen DeGeneres, inviting her to visit the Radke family ranch.

In addition, there will be break-out sessions that cover a variety of topics including soil health and pollinators, how to communicate and work with neighboring farmers, ways for military veterans to get involved with agriculture, navigating the world of social media and how to tell your agricultural story, from a woman’s perspective, and more!

You won’t want to miss the welcome reception on Thursday night at 5 p.m. where you can get a taste of Louisiana flavorful food provided by the Louisiana Cattleman Association with music by one of our very own.  Taylor Frey, along with her Roots Run Deep band, will play old favorites and original songs.
